HOW WE WORK
How we write
our guides.
Last updated: 8 October 2026.
Who is behind them
ReclamaHoy's guides are edited by Ricardo Perez Twerdy, founder of ReclamaHoy. Ricardo Perez Twerdy is not a lawyer. That is why the guides rely only on official sources and do not replace advice from a professional.
Official sources only
- Laws: the official text, linked to the specific article we cite: Spain's Official State Gazette (BOE), EUR-Lex for European Union law, legislation.gov.uk for the United Kingdom and the Irish Statute Book for Ireland.
- Consumer and financial authorities: Spain's Ministry of Consumer Affairs, the European Consumer Centre in Spain and the Bank of Spain; the European Commission and the European Consumer Centres Network; in the United Kingdom, the UK International Consumer Centre and the Financial Ombudsman Service; in Ireland, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission and the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman.
- The companies themselves: their hire terms, legal notices and official help centres.
Each guide lists its sources at the end, and guides about companies give the date on which we consulted their documents. We do not use complaint phone numbers or addresses taken from third-party websites that we have not been able to check on the company's official website, and we do not publish ratings or opinions about the companies.
Use of artificial intelligence
We use artificial intelligence tools to research, find sources and write drafts. Before publishing, every legal point is checked against the official text and every point about a company against its own document; what we cannot check is not published. The editor reviews the guides and corrects them when the sources change or we find a mistake.
Dates and updates
Each guide shows its publication date and, if it has changed since, the date it was updated. Company terms and rules can change: when we notice a change in a source, we review the guide. Always check the terms of your own contract as well.
How to tell us about a mistake
If you find a detail that is wrong or out of date, write to us at contacto@reclamahoy.es or through the contact form, telling us which guide it is and, if you can, the correct source. We will look into it and, where appropriate, correct the guide and its update date.
What the guides are not
- They are not legal advice and do not replace a review of your case by a lawyer.
- They do not guarantee that a complaint will succeed or that you will recover any amount.
- The examples are fictional and are there to show how to review documents.
Independence and commercial interest
ReclamaHoy has no relationship with the hire companies we mention, receives no payments from them and does not use affiliate links. The guides are free. ReclamaHoy also offers a free review of your documents and a paid full analysis; the guides link to that service, and we say so so that you can bear it in mind.
